Auromere Incense is made in Pondicherry, South India, where incense making is an ancient art and handicraft. Each stick is expertly rolled by hand by local village women, helping to support their livelihood and continue a timeless cultural tradition.

Ayurvedic Incense

Made according to the ancient method of hand-rolling each stick from a fragrant dough made of pure resins, herbs and essences which have been used for thousands of years in the practice of Ayurveda. There are 8 Ayurvedic fragrances:

COSTEN - Well-Being Made from Costus plant root and honey, soothes nerves and enhances the sense of well-being.
KASTURI - Aspiration From the fruit of the Manjal tree, this musk-like fragrance is traditionally used for depression and to keep aspiration in the mind.
LOBAN - Sanctity is a fragrant resin from a variety of Pine whose crystals are burnt in temples all over India for the holy, sanctified atmosphere the smoke creates.
MATTIPAL - Peace comes from the fragrant sap of the Peepal tree, known as the “Bodhi” Tree because the Buddha achieved realization while seated in meditation beneath it. The fragrant smoke creates a soothing and deeply peaceful atmosphere.
RESIN - Concentration comes from the fragrant sap of an Indian tree whose resinous crystals, according to Ayurvedic practice, are burnt to increase the power of concentration, to create a spiritual atmosphere, and repel bad spirits and adverse vibrations.
SAMBRANI - Serenity From the fragrant sap of the Sal Tree. Used in spiritual ceremonies since ancient times, its smoke creates a soothing atmosphere of calm serenity.
SANDALWOOD - Purity has been treasured since antiquity for its exquisite fragrance and purifying properties. In Ayurveda, it is used to cool the nervous system, ease anxiety, and has the potent attribute of purifying the vital being [life-force] and atmosphere.
TRIPHALA - Rejuvenation Translated as “3 fruits” in Sanskrit, Triphala is a well-known Ayurvedic rejuvenative compound prized for its harmonizing effect on the 3 doshas.

Incense is one of the oldest forms of Aromatherapy, the ancient art and science that uses the subtle power of fragrances to re-establish balance and harmony in the many levels of our being. There are 8 Aromatherapy fragrances:

AMBER - Centering (Pinus succinifera) Calming for disturbed conditions, restores equilibrium by harmonizing energy imbalances, stimulates and centers the being in the heart chakra.
JASMINE - Replenishing (Jasminum grandiflorum) Balancing to male and female hormones, calming, restores balance and confidence, anti-depressive, soothes headaches and insomnia, promotes feelings of optimism and increases receptivity.
INDIAN CEDAR - Elevating (Cedrus deodara) Calming and elevating, anti-depressive, helps develop a sense of self-control, integrity and fortitude, clears the mind [good for daydreamers and the absent-minded], helpful for breath control [pranayama].

LILY - Calming (Lilium) Gently sedative and soothing, calms the heart, nerves and emotions. Helpful for irritability, anxiety, and insomnia. Prevents negative dreams, and reduces worries.
PATCHOULI - Stimulating (Pogostemon patchouli) Strengthens the nerves and stimulates the senses, anti-depressive, helps put problems into perspective, aphrodesiac, regenerative.
ROSE - Spiritual Love (Rosa indica) Increases love, compassion and devotion, gives a sense of security and spiritual attunement, promotes sleep, reduces anger, gently anti-depressive, calms strife and instills a feeling of peace, happiness and confidence, helpful during menopause and for fluctuating female hormones.
SANDAL - Purifying (Santalum album) Aids spiritual purification and meditation, focuses the mind away from distracting influences, reduces irritability, anxiety and depression.

COCONUT - Comforting The rich, soothing aroma of Indian Coconut is both exotic and comforting. It has a long-lingering mellow fragrance.

MYRRH - Awakening Prized in all ancient civilizations, and used as a perfume, incense and medicine, Myrrh’s ethereal fragrance awakens an awareness of the spiritual reality behind everyday life.
PARIJATA - Aspiring Soul The small, white and orange blossoms of Nyctanthes arbor-tristis or Night Jasmine are often gathered and strung into fragrant garlands for the hair or offered in the local temples throughout India. The spiritual significance of the Parijata flower is Aspiration.
VANILLA - Soothing The sweet, creamy scent of Vanilla is a popular favorite and is especially helpful during stressful times. It is known to help dissolve pent-up emotions, improve self-confidence and evoke a soothing sense of well-being.
